For “a wonderful meal in a fantastic setting”, it’s worth a trip to this three-year-old venture: a stylish, airy dining room with vaulted ceiling, looking right onto the sand beach of Oxwich Bay. Chef Hywell Griffith and his team are on view in the open kitchen and offer a choice of à la carte and tasting menus (the latter five courses for £50 or eight for £80). In October 2019, it became one of six restaurants now blessed by Michelin in Wales. Top Tip – “it’s that rarest of destinations with wonderful cuisine that also offers an excellent kids’ menu and is a treat for that alone. Good for the foodie parent on holiday – no more pizza!”
“A totally unexpected find, with sensational food” – this descriptively named two-year-old is “a fine modern building with spectacular views of the beach”, and the cooking from chef Hywel Griffith is “first class”.
Beach House Restaurant Diner Reviews
"What a delightful beach setting. Sublime pea and tortellini starter followed by very accomplished lamb two-ways and bara brith soufflé. However, service was a disappointment; they were clearly not yet in their stride following their recent reopening. No coordination from the maitre d and no idea of wine supplies. We had a nice flinty bottle of Chablis but had to wait for the second one as it wasn’t chilled. Then no further supplies and no sommelier or anyone else to recommend a substitute. An enjoyable visit all the same - good job we were in a chill mood to enjoy the beautiful setting! "
