A “stunning” early 2019 revamp has scrubbed up this elegant continental-style café/bistro that’s a classic local rendezvous. Aided by its in-house bakery, it comes into its own for breakfasts or cake-fuelled afternoon teas. More substantial fare sometimes takes flak for being “pricey and average”.
With its “wonderfully elegant” Georgian architecture and tall windows, this “very popular” café bistro is a “nice spot to read the paper and have breakfast” (the former provided on Sundays), but also to sample the “delicious” Mediterranean food or splash out on an afternoon tea.
“Stretching from light breakfasts to more elaborate lunchtime choices”, this well-established grand café remains “a favourite in town”.
“A regular stop for coffee and light lunch” – this well-known grand café by Grainger Market “gets very crowded, particularly at weekends, when service gets a bit slow”. Even so, generally “consistent standards make it a safe bet”.
