The Bull's Head, also in the village, is run by the same team.
Harden's survey result
Opposite a twelfth-century church, this “very popular village pub” is run by the GPG-approved Cheshire Cat Pubs & Bars group. Its country tavern favourites and seasonal specials are deemed “good value” by those who comment on it.
For 31 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

The Church Inn Restaurant Diner Reviews
"excellent food. it's all cooked superbly accurately, delicious layers of flavour, well seasoned.. seabass was excellent (cibo shown up in every regard) - crab bon bons, lemon butter, delicious wilted and dressed spinach, truffle etc.. skin crisped and fish delicately flaking. light lunches very good. deserts - apple crumble souffle was light and perfect. dak choc and lime pannacotta with white choc etc. fabulous. the only let down was the ginger cake - a bit burnt on top and wrong texture.... service is leisurely to slow. always totally friendly, but yet again they forget to bring sauces they offer. portions on the lower end of what a lunch main should be - particularly sea bass. still fantastic and pleasure to eat at."
