For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"What was once a favourite has been ruined by appalling service. On my latest visit, our waiter (Roland) ignored us for nearly 20 minutes, then took our order with a cold, rude attitude. When I asked about a pasta listed with guanciale, he gave a condescending lecture, told me “don’t take it personally” and even touched my shoulder — inappropriate and humiliating. As an Asian diner, the contrast between his charm toward other tables and his dismissiveness toward us felt discriminatory. Ordering from the “Taste of Louis” promotional menu only seemed to make it worse. Ambience and music still good, but service was offensive enough that I wouldn’t return."
