Harden's survey result
Summary
“Now reopened in new premises (the old Post Office)” and – much to the relief of its many fans – “still on top form”, this family-run curry house is known for “truly exceptional” cooking that is “not your run-of-the-mill Indian”: “everything is cooked to order” and many of the dishes are “interesting and original”. Launched in 2001, its future looked in doubt a couple of years ago when the landlord at its original address declined to extend the lease.
Summary
“Still serving some of the best Indian food you can find!”, this family-run curry house has earned a solid local reputation for its “great cooking… although you may have to wait as it’s all freshly cooked”. After more than 20 years, it may be living on borrowed time, with the landlord planning to return the site to domestic use.
Summary
“For 20 years this restaurant has shown what good Indian food should be”, with its “great, freshly cooked” meals that include “the usual favourites as well as more interesting dishes”. Prominent former Ludlow chefs including Shaun Hill and Claude Bosi count themselves fans, but sadly “it seems this could be its last year before the building reverts to housing”, following a change-of-use application from the landlord.
For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
