Harden's survey result
Summary
“Everything about this place is outstanding”, from “the grounds of lovely Leonardslee Gardens” (owned by entrepreneur Penny Streeter) to the “17-course tasting menu, which is a real experience of foraged ingredients” from a “well-drilled team” led by South African chef Jean Delport – a contestant in Great British Menu 2025. The whole evening is a “well- executed performance”, and “the attention to detail is fantastic” (“we walked in without saying who we were, but they knew about us and our dietary restrictions”); (“by course number 14, we were completely stuffed and had to take home a doggy bag of petits fours!”). Top Tip – “the rooms are also fantastic and well worth the stay, so you can walk things off on the estate the next day”.
For 35 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

Interlude Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Excellently executed and clever tasting menu with very knowledgeable and attentive service - 17 courses may be overdoing it somewhat and you can get full before the star dishes"
"We visited this venue about five years ago and it remains amongst my all time favourites after 134 michelin stars. We visited today and perfection has been enhanced! Staff were so welcoming and attentive. Almost every aspect has been tweaked to even a higher standard. Each course again stunning presentation AND flavours. Such a story told through tge cards they give you with each course plus the verbal explanation by the chefs. Its hard to identify a favourite, as all were superb. I guess the duck course and the final chocolate dessert are a tiny bit ahead of the others. My only grouch was the missing (this time) the incredible biltong carrot, but superb replacements. A venue that is so focussed upon most ingredients coming from their own estate. Toilets beautiful too. I fully expect it to get its second star at the ceremony next week!"
"Really?! Has Michelin got something against Sussex?! The fact that Interlude didn't recently receive its second star is a gobsmacking oversight. We ate there in November, outstanding in every way. A special shout out to their brilliant sommeliers. "
"If I hadn't been to Moor Hall this would be my top meal of the year. A wonderful experience from start to finish. Service extravagant but lovely. Interesting food, interesting wine, and a stunning location. My one tiny grumble - a feeling I often have - is I wish they would let go a bit more of the standard fine dining tasting menu sequence. "
