“A small and intimate restaurant” – opposite an old church in Cornwall’s antiques capital – Graham Cuthbertson’s wood-panelled spot “serves great modern European and local dishes and the dining room is really comfortable”. “I went there with all my family and they were really accommodating with young children”.

For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Always a delight to enjoy such excellent food, their vegetarian option is always a innovative and delicious. With forewarning they have always proved very happy and able to adapt dishes to suit dietary restrictions or preferences. The service is seamless, friendly and very accommodating. The reliable quality and excellent value of the specific wine producers listed has always been notable, The tables are well spaced and the room well decorated. Difficult to fault. Our ambience rating reflects that we have always been there in the depths of winter when surprisingly for such an excellent good value for money local option there are not so many tables occupied, particularly on a Wednesday night!
