This Petersham Nurseries development also includes The Delicatessen, which hosts an 'enoteca' every Wed-Sat from 5pm-9pm, with Italian wines by the glass from Petersham Cellar, aperitivo and music.

In Covent Garden’s Floral Court, this “buzzy” and “cheerful” charmer is a central London offshoot of Richmond’s famous Petersham Nurseries. Leading onto an attractive courtyard, it shares its parent venue’s strength in being at its best in warmer months, when you can eat rather romantically al fresco. It offers “an interesting range of mostly small plates, not typically found on the menu of Italian restaurants in London”, but “some are not well executed” and a meal can “end up being expensive”.

“It’s lovely to sit at the outside tables in the summer” in the “beautiful courtyard” of Covent Garden’s Floral Court, dining on “interesting small plates” of Italian food – “albeit on the expensive side” – at the central London offshoot from the well-known Petersham Nurseries in Richmond. It’s just “great for a girls’ day lunch or dinner”.

The “gorgeous setting”, in Covent Garden’s newish Floral Court development and with an outside courtyard, is a highpoint at this venture from the family who own Richmond’s well-known Petersham Nurseries: “perfect for a date”. Although “expensive”, it was complimented more often this year for its “lovely”, simple Italian cuisine.

The courtyard on a summer’s day is a “top setting” and adds lustre to this swish Italian in Covent Garden’s relatively new Floral Court development. There was more appreciation too this year for Italian cuisine that – while “not cheap” – provides “lovely, fresh, simple dishes with super presentation”.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
