The team behind Dalston's yakitori specialist (Natalie Lee-Joe & Brett Redman) brought their Japanese small plates to Covent Garden in February 2018. Occupying a terraced building on Catherine Street, the 50-cover restaurant also boasts a private dining karaoke room.
Harden's survey result
“Yakitori heaven” (“everything is so yummy”) is to be found at this minimalist duo, specialising in Japanese skewers, which opened in Covent Garden in 2018 after a successful first venture in Dalston. The trade-off is “very simple Muji/utilitarian” decor “but who cares when the food’s this nice”. (Versatile Aussie chef Brett Redman is behind it, in partnership with Natalie Lee-Joe). It also has a karaoke room.
Well-reputed (slightly hyped) Dalston yakitori café (run by Natalie Lee-Joe & Brett Redman) which wins solid (if not spectacular) ratings for its Japanese small plates. They must be doing something right, as they opened a 50-cover Covent Garden sibling in February 2018, praised in early reports for its “good food and friendly staff”.
