“In a crowded Chinatown field”, this three-story Cantonese institution just off Leicester Square “is a dependable crowd-pleaser” with a “good price-to-quality ratio”: “the queues outside speak for its popularity”. Highlights from the “reliable menu” include “fab dim sum every time”, “yummy char sui” and “legendary soft shell crab”, all delivered by staff who “although rushed off their feet are generally smiley and friendly”. Top Tip – “the ground floor is a better experience than the higher floors”.
“Old-school Cantonese” over three floors just off Leicester Square with “legendary soft shell crab and brilliant dim sum”, “fabulous, flavoursome morsels that arrive hot and steaming at your table”. It’s “not at all glamorous, but once you start eating you won’t notice!” and it’s “always super busy and crowded, so you have to queue – but it’s soooo worth it”.
“Very much better than the average for Chinatown” – this “old school”, three-floor operation just north of Leicester Square delivers just what you hope for in the area (but is so often hard to find) with its “no frills and great value”. Top billing goes to its “fantastic dim sum” but “evening hits the spot too, with plenty for the adventurous diner: sea cucumber, ducks’ beaks, drunken chicken feet, curry whelks…”
“If you want a safe bet in Chinatown”, this “old school” fixture serves “proper Cantonese” dishes over each of its busy four floors, and “reasonable prices” make it “amazing value for money” too. Just “watch out for the queues”.
