Harden's survey result
Summary
As riverside pubs go, few ooze the ancient charm of this cute, historic Hammersmith hostelry, where James Thompson penned ‘Rule Britannia’ back in 1740. In other respects, nothing about it is game-changing, but the appeal of its cosy log fires in winter and riverside terrace in summer underpin its ferocious popularity (you must book).
Summary
This “historic” venue on Hammersmith’s Upper Mall (owned by local brewer Fuller’s since 1798) is unquestionably “one of the nicest pubs in London”: with its “delicious” pub grub, “cosy log fire in the winter, a terrace overlooking the river in the summer – what else would you want?”. Top Menu Tip – yummy burgers.
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
