History is in the air at this riverside pub, down a cute Hammersmith alley, and with fine views from the small Thames-side terrace. Feedback is enthusiastic about its “fantastic” pub scoff, but the marvellous characterful interior is the big deal here.
“An atmospheric 18th-century hostelry right by the river on Chiswick Mall”, a short walk from Hammersmith. There’s “excellent pub food” – “true English fare” – “and local London Pride ale on tap”, but it’s really all about the location: “lovely outside on the terrace in the summer, or cosy by the fire in winter”.
“It’s one of the best pubs in London”, “with a lovely terrace right on the Thames”, but this small 18th-century tavern in a cute Hammersmith alley is “not really gastro” – “the food’s OK, but you come for the beer and the atmosphere”.
A “quintessential”, small 18th-century pub, “beautifully located” on the Thames in Hammersmith, which is supremely “cosy in winter”, and has “a sunny terrace in summer” – just the job for a Sunday roast.
The Dove Restaurant Diner Reviews
"One of London's best and cosiest pubs and the food definitely has improved over the last few years - whilst not a high end gastropub, the food is good and so nice that The Dove is no longer only a drinking pub. Service friendly and very pub-like, nice buzz as ever."
