“A pearl of a pub” in a cute Hammersmith backstreet – much less foodie than the Anglesea Arms about five minutes away, but the epitome of a true local, and “with one of the finest pints of Fullers to be had anywhere”. “Pub-standard food is produced with style and care”, if no huge culinary pretentions. “A winner!”.

A “great”, “traditional pub” in a cute warren of Hammersmith backstreets, which has been somewhat gentrified by successive managements, but which has ‘kept it real’ as a community boozer better than most. Steak is the top tip on the “good value” menu.

“A proper boozer”, lost in the backstreets of Hammersmith, with a quintessentially “cosy and friendly atmosphere, open fireplace, large portions and a great Sunday roast”. Fuller’s closed it for a refurb and change in management from which it emerged in late September 2018 – we’ve rated it on the assumption of plus ça change…

For 31 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
