Harden's survey result
For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
“Hard to beat, even with all the new competition” – this “always reliable” stalwart (the first of the upmarket burger chains to hit the capital) still “does what it says on the tin”: “the burgers here are great, and as a venue for a no-fuss meal when the family are hungry and in a hurry” it’s “good value” and “very tasty”.
“Overtaken by funkier rivals”, but this burger franchise still wins solid support from most reporters for its “good value, really good selection of options, and excellent sides”.
“GBK always delivers what it says on the tin!”, say loyalists of this still-popular burger franchise; “it nowadays lags a market it once led” however, and even if it’s still “always solid and enjoyable” it’s also arguably “nothing to write home about”.
For an “honest, proper burger and trimmings”, many fans still tip these “no-nonsense” cafés; this year, however, ratings slipped noticeably behind younger rival Byron, and a growing band of critics perceive a “former favourite” that’s now “nothing special”.

"A good burger, cooked medium rare if you want it (unlike Shake Shack)with a good variety of fillings. Now a notch above Byron's which is showing signs of decline."
