Breaking news
March 2020: Ruth Hansom is leaving with her restaurant team in preparation for starting a new venture.
Harden's survey result
Summary
“Love the garden and the creative spin they put on classic brunch dishes” – hitherto the main reasons to seek out this bright Notting Hill pub conversion. With the arrival of Ruth Hansom in April 2019, however, the menu has taken on a more serious, and British-sourced, slant – very early reports are upbeat: “exquisite cooking from a fabulous new female chef”.
Summary
This brightly converted pub, with garden – nowadays a haven of immunity-boosting, locally-sourced, seasonal fare – “a top neighbourhood option”, ideal for breakfast (including with kids in tow). It takes some flak, though, for “meagre portions priced at Notting Hill-banker levels”.
Summary
“Bright LA-style newcomer” occupying a converted Notting Hill pub once known as The Commander, complete with garden. The zingy fare ‘with an emphasis on fresh veg’, grains and charcoal grills is “surprisingly good”.
