“It’s lovely to be able to sit outside” at this carefully styled Italian, not far from Selfridges – Richard Caring’s second spin-off carrying the brand of Mayfair’s famous Harry’s Bar (which is still resolutely members only). Feedback otherwise is fairly thin on the ground and a little up-and-down.

Richard Carling’s cutely-situated yearling north of Oxford Street – his second ‘accessible’ version of Mayfair’s famous Harry’s Bar (which is still very much members only) – hasn’t yet hit the same level of satisfaction as its Knightsbridge sibling, Harry’s Dolce Vita. But most diners like its “spacious” interior and “good atmosphere”, and even those who say the food’s “distinctly average” can still feel “it’s a useful casual-dining addition”.

Summary

A second addition to Caprice Group’s new ‘Harry’s’ brand opens in autumn 2018, with an all-day menu under the same executive chef (Diego Cardoso). With its Mayfair location and aim to “serve a slice of the ‘Dolce Vita’ in the heart of the West End” this is very much known territory for Richard Caring’s luxury group. See also ‘Harry’s Dolce Vita’.

For 31 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
