Owner's description
Welcome to The Melody Restaurant at St. Paul's Hotel The Melody restaurant takes its name from one of Britains’ most beloved films. It was directed by Warris Hussein who was the original director of Dr. Who. Melody? has an international cult following since its release in 1971. It was produced by David Puttman, director of Chariots of Fire and Midnight Express, and was accompanied by an iconic soundtrack created by the Bee Gees and Crosby Stills and Nash. The Melody restraint was originally the site of St Paul’s school, which was the chosen location for Melody?, a story of youth and first love. It was Alan Parker’s first screen play. He went on to direct The Commitments and Evita. Our kitchen team creates an expert fusion of modern European cuisine with hints of their combined cultural heritage. We use the finest seasonal ingredients from sustainable sources to showcase the daily menus, from fresh, aromatic Mediterranean dishes to homely, rustic Alpine feasts. For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
