Harden's survey result
For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
“Fantastic fresh fish”, flown in daily, is the boast of this Mayfair ‘Pescheria’ – offshoot of a famous seafood restaurant in Rome – which generated consistent (if slightly limited) support this year and escaped the brickbats of former years for its hefty prices (although arguably “Estaitorio Milos is better value for a similar formula”).
While diners generally give this Mayfair branch of a Roman seafood specialist the benefit of the doubt on the food front, its “ridiculous” prices remain a major brake on all-round enthusiasm levels.
With fish flown in fresh from Italy every day this Mayfair spin-off from a Roman original gets a thumbs-up for its seafood; most diners however feel the yearling’s “excellent” food is overshadowed by “exorbitant prices” – the plonk is particularly expensive.
On the former site of Semplice (RIP), a Mayfair offshoot of a restaurant in Rome; most early-days supporters do praise its “excellent fresh fish”, but not everyone’s convinced, and it can seem “seriously overpriced”.
