“Stonking steaks are the draw” at this small four-year-old, “on a rather bleak stretch of ‘Claxton’ (CLApham/BriXTON) highway”. “The room is pretty basic” (and “intimate to the point of cramped”) but fans like its “warm and slightly rustic” charm as enlivened by “the friendliest staff”. “Sunday roasts are top notch” too – “you get complimentary mini Yorkshires and gravy to start; and the veg is superb”.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
