“Classy, with a nice grown-up atmosphere” – this ‘traditional countryside pub and dining room in southwest London’ (the first from the Lunar Pub Company) opened in late 2019, and is successfully living up to its ‘rus-in-urbe’ aspirations. There are lots of warm vibes for its well-realised food and cosy style (even if the prices are those of SW3, not the shires). They are already onto their second project (opening in late 2021) – The Ganymede in SW1 (see also).

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"This once popular Chelsea haunt has taken its eyes off the ball and standards have slipped notably. Food is poorly presented and our dishes were cold. Staff did not seem to care at all about what they were serving. Absence of front of house leadership and very amateur approach. Multiple choices unavailable of standard stock items (wine, liqueur for deserts, no specials). Loyal local crowd will let them get away with it for a bit, but a reputation will only last for so long."

"Upmarket pub food with Asian and American flourishes. Friendly service on a quiet weekday lunch. Walking past in the evening it seemed to be heaving . Excellent Wye Valley beers "
