A new specialist steak joint has appeared in Balham; this one, unusually, aims to be an affordable destination. Expect a simple menu of grass-fed British beef cuts, snacks instead of starters, options for children, and a keenly priced wine list.
Harden's survey result
“Top-quality steaks” – “cooked to perfection” – and at “reasonable prices” have made this four-year-old Balham steakhouse and its Battersea satellite “great for carnivores”. Since Covid-19 struck the businesses have been closed, and as of November 2020 they are unable to confirm when reopening will take place.
“It ain’t the only restaurant in town offering quality steak at an affordable price” but fans say this Balham yearling “stands out for its simple, limited menu of unusual British-sourced cuts, plus nine or ten sides cooked exactly to order”. One or two incidents of poor preparation are also reported however, hence the middling grades.
