Not far from West Hampstead station, this well-established, modern bistro serves “small but delicious portions” of distinctive, “Asian-French fusion cuisine”: no doubt a legacy of chef-owner Jae’s stints working for Nobu and Hélène Darroze at the Connaught. The “limited ambience” may represent a “missed opportunity” for cooking of this style and quality – the vibe is “nice local” rather than “romantic” – but it’s a “hidden gem” worth discovering.
“Excellent Korean/modern European fusion cooking” ensures that this “genuinely friendly” (and good value) little bistro has become a fixture on the West Hampstead culinary scene. Chef Jae worked at Nobu and Hélène Darroze (The Connaught); his wife Yeon runs the front of house.
‘Modern bistro with a Korean twist’ characterises the distinctive cuisine at this husband-and-wife outfit in West Hampstead, and results in “delicious and interesting dishes” and at “very low prices” too. Top Tip – the evening set menu (not Friday or Saturday) is brilliant value.
“A lovely and refreshing local run by a couple (husband downstairs cooking and wife serving). They deserve real support in their effort to bring French food with a Korean twist in every dish to West Hampstead!”
