Summary

“Excellent Korean/modern European fusion cooking” ensures that this “genuinely friendly” (and good value) little bistro has become a fixture on the West Hampstead culinary scene. Chef Jae worked at Nobu and Hélène Darroze (The Connaught); his wife Yeon runs the front of house.

Summary

‘Modern bistro with a Korean twist’ characterises the distinctive cuisine at this husband-and-wife outfit in West Hampstead, and results in “delicious and interesting dishes” and at “very low prices” too. Top Tip – the evening set menu (not Friday or Saturday) is brilliant value.

Summary

“A lovely and refreshing local run by a couple (husband downstairs cooking and wife serving). They deserve real support in their effort to bring French food with a Korean twist in every dish to West Hampstead!”

Summary

“A former Nobu chef brings his magic touch to NW6”, with the opening of this “really sweet little neighbourhood find”; while the “cramped” interior “leaves something to be desired”, the “unlikely sounding Korean/Euro fusion fare” is “somehow made to work”“it’s truly wonderful and inexpensive”.

"This was our first time to Petite Coree but it certainly won't be our last! I've lived in the area for almost a year and despite hearing good things about it had passed it many times without noticing that it was there. For me it falls into the hidden gem category. The food was an Asian-French fusion quite unlike any other that we had been to before. We particularly liked the kimchi arancini and the sea bream in an orange whiskey sauce, which was divine! Negatives were that the ambience was limited and the restaurant did not have a romantic vibe, which is perhaps a missed opportunity given the cuisine (perhaps the green walls could do with a re-paint?). This was not a restaurant for a first date nor one in which one could while away the time talking with friends, but a nice local restaurant to enjoy a reasonably prompt very good quality meal. Service was prompt but lacked warmth and we felt like we were rushed to pay the bill."
