Summary
“Always good, always reliable, always full… which is unfortunate if you want a table last minute” – this Singaporean/Malaysian “old favourite” in a shopping parade near Swiss Cottage is sought out by hungry regulars, “as it has been for decades” (fans include Giles Coren, restaurant critic of The Times). Service is “fast”, but it can also be a little “rushed and unsmiling”.
Summary
“Reliably delicious food” – “with choices from all over Asia” including “incredible laksa” and other Singaporean/Malaysian specialities – ensure that it’s perennially “hard to get a table” at this modest-looking veteran in a shopping parade near Swiss Cottage. It has “very reasonable prices too – what’s not to like?” Giles Coren, restaurant critic at The Times, spends his own money here as a long-time regular.
Summary
“Consistently excellent food with friendly service” – all “at reasonable prices” – ensures that this cramped, pan-Asian veteran, tucked away in a parade of shops near Swiss Cottage, is “always busy”. Giles Coren of The Times claims to have eaten here more than a thousand times, drawn back by the Malaysian and Singaporean specialties.

For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"One of our long time favourites but let down a bit by cooking on this occasion. The Peking duck was very dry and a bit tasteless. The mee goring was good but the Szechaun beef, lemon chicken & green chicken curry were just OK. "

"I do love this place - outside central London, it has a space, colour and swagger that is different to the cramped or hushed central London experience. Laksa is my favourite; in general best to take a group and share. Handy for theatre,"
