This new City hotel promises to be a "new statement of indulgence" that "integrates design with comfort and Asian hospitality". It's the Singapore-based group's "first mixed-use development for the City of London" and will include luxury sky apartments, high-end retail, a plaza, and Devonshire House. This signature Singaporean restaurant is joined by cocktail bar Ginger Lily and The Orchid Lounge, serving Kopi Tiam, Singaporean-inspired afternoon tea.
Harden's survey result
A short walk from Liverpool Street station, this towering, new, luxury hotel from a Singapore-based chain was slated to open in 2020, but opened post-lockdown in May 2021. Straits is the flagship dining room for the hotel, where ex-Sheraton Saigon chef, British-born Lorraine Sinclair, presides over an Asian-inspired menu. In the Orchid Lounge, Cherish Finden – judge on Channel 4’s Bake Off: The Professionals – has been announced as executive pastry chef.
For 31 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
