What started as a chippy and fishmonger in Stokey's High Street has expanded to Islington and now to a third site just off Hackney's main drag, Mare Street. As well as the usual fish supper you'll find grilled oysters, lobster subs, snails and whole lobster with chips.
Harden's survey result
“Yummy” fresh fish and “crispy fat chips” all in “great value, generous portions” win raves – if from a small fanclub – for these “classy” chippies in Stokey, Hackney Central and Islington. October 2018 marks a first, with the launch of London’s first fully vegan chippie at the Hackney Central branch (which is itself moving down the road to 218 Graham Road).
“Fabulous fish ’n’ chips” at “decent value” prices are delivered “without pretension” at these “brilliant” venues in Stokey and Hackney Central.
For 30 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
