Pierre Koffman protégé (and former Young Chef of the Year) Ben Murphy - just 25 - has been backed by Essex restaurateur Steve Andrews to open a new 100-cover restaurant in South Woodford. Set over two floors it will boast an oyster and seafood bar and a menu inspired by classic French techniques and British produce.

Summary

“A star on the outskirts of London” – Pierre Koffmann protégé (and former Young Chef of the Year) Ben Murphy – just 25 – was backed by Essex restaurateur Steve Andrews to open this “ambitious” (one or two critics would say “over-ambitious”) and very plushly “comfortable” new 100-cover restaurant in South Woodford (complete with Churchill Lounge bar). It’s “a fabulous addition to an area which surprisingly lacks an upmarket establishment” and “shows great promise”, even if some of the classic cuisine is “still finding its feet”.
