Summary
A “busy town-centre pub with an excellent menu that is always reliable and very tasty” – and surprisingly affordable too (“I honestly expected it to cost 20 to 30% more, such was the quality”). Add in smiley staff and fans would “100% go again”. The vividly decorated outfit is part of the nationwide Heartwood Collection, which has lived many lives but started out as ‘Le Petit Blanc’ under Raymond Blanc and is now steadily acquiring pubs-with-rooms in a bid to break 60 UK venues by 2027.
