This laid back Leith Walk staple continues to please with its wood-fired pizzas, pastas and fried treats. Owners, the Crolla family are due to expand their empire with a vast £3 million fish ‘n’ chippie – ‘Bertie’s’ – in a World Heritage Site church on Victoria St, in December 2018.
“Do you like pizzas? Do you like proper Italian pizzas?” – the Crolla clan’s “family favourite”, on Leith Walk, turns out some “superb” wood-fired examples, plus homemade ice-cream, sharing platters and pasta.
“I don’t see how this terrific pizza joint could be any better!”; the Crolla family’s “cosy” Leith Walk haunt lives up to its name with “superb pizza”, “a decent supporting cast of prosecco and homemade ice-creams, plus lovely sharing platters to start”. It’s “very family-friendly and always full of happy people”.
Expect a “wonderful family welcome” at the Crolla family’s “friendly” and “busy” Leith Walk venture, part of their citywide empire; it serves “dependable” Italian fare and, with regard to the “excellent” pizzas, the “wood-fired oven makes all the difference”.
