Summary
Local boy “Mark Hix’s beautiful new stream-side pub-restaurant” – a thatched seventeenth-century affair – is a place of “real charm and character”, whether you dine “outside in the scout tent” or in one of the “lovely” interior dining rooms. The “menu, mixing traditional pub food with the more adventurous”, is “not surprisingly a cut above the normal”, given Hix's starry pedigree – and they also have a couple of rooms if you want to extend the joys.
