For “consistent quality fish dishes” (and they do a good line in seafood too, particularly oysters), this national chain with its consistently “pleasant” branches “executes its staples very well”. “Go off-piste, and perhaps results are more mixed” (but serious gripes are few and far between).

“A good variety of nicely cooked fish” is a perhaps lukewarm but fair estimation of this “dependable” national chain, liked also for its well-appointed branches and “polite” service.

For 30 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
