“An excellent local restaurant with talent in the kitchen (Miarisuz Dobies) and professional front of house” (his wife); regulars are “never disappointed” by the French- and Central European-inflected food (including five- or seven-course tasting menus), with “every detail wonderful and made in-house”.

“Just don’t let them grow out of their premises!” – this small neighbourhood spot inspires limited but very enthusiastic feedback for its excellent cooking. Miarisuz Dobies is the chef (with his wife front of house) and – though the cooking is somewhat Frenchified – some dishes come with an interesting central European spin reflecting his heritage.

“Dishes – never bad, with some gems – Central European (or French) – emerge from the kitchen of this husband-and-wife team” comprising Mariusz Dobies, former exec chef at Michael Caines Manchester, and his wife Veronika, an “excellent host”. It’s a good tip for a slap-up dinner en route to or from Manchester Airport, though they also do Sunday lunch.

This “excellent neighbourhood bistro”“but with much better food than the ‘bistro’ moniker would lead one to expect” – is “a very good addition to the limited restaurant scene to the south of Manchester” (and so “very convenient for the airport”). Chef Mariusz Dobies was exec chef at Michael Caines Manchester.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
