“Superb locally sourced seafood” is the highlight of the menu at this family-run operation founded by Angela Long and her late husband Richard, which has a “carefully built and locally supported reputation over many years”“value for money and a great attention to detail is a special combination” that “attracts both locals and the many visitors to the North Norfolk coast”.

A “great-value” menu featuring plenty of fresh fish, along with local meat and game, has attracted a loyal following for this “very friendly” family-run North Norfolk venue over more than 20 years. Co-chef/founder Angela Long has ensured that standards remain high since the loss of her husband, Richard, two years ago.

This family-run north Norfolk restaurant “does what it does very well”, and that’s mainly fresh fish, along with local game – a formula that has served it well for more than 20 years. Sadly, co-chef/proprietor Richard Long died last year. “He will be sadly missed, but the good news is that his wife and co-chef/proprietor, Angela, is carrying on with the business”.

“Fantastic fresh fish and family-run atmosphere” have made this straightforward restaurant a top choice on the north Norfolk coast for two decades. “I’ve never had a bad meal here” – and beyond the “great seafood” there’s also a “dessert board that’s impossible to resist!”.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
