Breaking news
Sorry we're closed. A number of factors influenced these decisions. Starting with Brexit, construction of the HS2 station with limited access, the Covid-19 pandemic, inflation, raising electricity and gas prices, higher employee maintenance costs, and rising product prices, we are no longer able to maintain the restaurant. The Karzma, 2011/2023.
Bordesley St, Birmingham, B5 5PH
Owner's description
The Karczma is a traditional Polish restaurant, bar and grill located in the heart of Birmingham, just 5min walk from both the Bull Ring Shopping Centre and Moor Street Rail Station.
Restaurant is decorated in the style of an old Polish country cottage seating 85 people across 2 rooms.
The menu is designed to reflect a homely, hearty and rustic food that’s quintessentially Polish, and prepared using only the very best quality ingredients.
The menu contains numerous Polish classics including Pierogi (stuffed dumplings), Berszcz (Beetroot soup), Pickled Herring, Zurek (Pickled Rye Flour Soup) served from a hollowed out loaf of bread, as well as a whole host of grilled meats and fish.

Harden's survey result
Not enough people have commented yet
Our reviews are based on an annual survey of ordinary diners which runs in Spring each year. But this establishment has not yet gathered enough feedback for our editors to write it up.
Do you think it deserves to be better known?
Write a quick review now using our restaurant diary service. That way it might catch our attention. Next survey, you can transfer your diary entry into our survey system. Everyone who contributes 5 or more reviews in our survey will qualify for a free guide.
For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
