“A loyal following – due no doubt to their discount programme for regulars – ensures that this Italian-style place (part of a solid local chain, and set around a 200-year-old olive tree) is buzzing every evening”. “Birthday celebrators can make it overly noisy, but a visit in the summer to the little garden solves that issue!”

The Berkhamsted branch of this rather superior local chain, set around a 200-year-old living olive tree, wins plentiful and consistently high ratings for its classic Italian menu.

For 31 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Great value for money lunch option as well as the Tuesday night eat/drink deal. Nice ambience, good staff and decent food. There are a lot of restaurants of similar quality, but this is a good option."
