“Excellent sourdough pizzas” with toppings that change with the seasons have earned this eight-year-old independent in Altrincham Market a glowing reputation locally and further afield. They now have spinoffs in Manchester’s Mackie Mayor and Macclesfield’s Picturedrome pop-up food hall.

This sourdough pizzeria at “buzzy” Altrincham Market (and now Manchester’s Mackie Mayor) is by well-earned repute “significantly better than anything else in the area”. It’s “still belting out some amazing food, but don’t get too pricey guys – remember, it’s a marketplace and we sit on hard benches”.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
