Caprice Holding’s “brilliant”, “friendly” and “glamorous” (the superlatives go on) seafood staple, J Sheekey’s Oyster Bar, will become the J Sheekey Atlantic Bar this summer. With the new name comes a new menu and a revamped, 50-seater dining terrace, launching on 22 June.
The menu will include an all-new lobster section (available until 10 September when native oyster season will take over). Dishes include: Lobster & shrimp burger with tomato and horseradish sauce; lobster & shiso tempura with chilli jam; and sautéed cod cheeks with lobster gyoza and dashi broth.
Don’t worry, the old brigade will still be in evidence with Sheekey’s fish pie, Devon cock crab and Isle of Mull scallops remaining on the new menu.
Ocean blue is the main colour for the framework, canopy and branding of the terrace, which will be punctuated by deep green dining chairs, copper and zinc tables on the Atlantic Bar side, and more formal white clothed tables on the restaurant side.
Launch menus will be adorned with a specially-commissioned “Life Under the Atlantic” series by illustrious artist Quentin Blake.
