“Don’t be put off by the funny looks” of this muralled, Gallic corner bistro (family run on this site since 1995) – “it’s really good” if you’re looking for a good-value meal in the environs of the British Museum.

Long-established Gallic bistro near the British Museum (plastered with posters from West End shows) which “never disappoints”. Even those who say the food’s “never exciting”, see it as “an efficient and good value staple” and more commonly there’s praise for its “generous portions and keenly priced wines”.

For 30 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Was concerned from recent reviews that a change of ownership would mean the food was not great, however it was fine. Not delicious but good enough to go again. Service was great. A bit over the top but an aim to please. Ambience very reminiscent of Brussels bistro and clean. I live abroad these days but good to still find this place in London "
