“New kid on the block: hope it sticks around!” – owned by an American, this “stoic attempt at a quality diner” near the British Museum, has won instant praise for its “jolly good burgers” in particular (including a veggie option) and dishes such as “excellent chicken wings... and all the usual trimmings”.

"For an eatery to be making all its own dishes (except the bun from the "bun factory" it makes sure it doesn't shout about it or even whisper it. Presentation on the plate is perfunctory and so are the staff when it comes to selling their brand. The appearance of a load of children's 'art' on a pillar near the stairs speaks of self-satisfied complacency in the absence of any real atomosphere buzz."
