Harden's survey result
Summary
A “delightful ever-changing menu of truly delicious and inventive vegan/vegetarian dishes” tickles the taste buds at Camilla Fayed’s Bayswater venue, which is supplied by her Demeter-certified biodynamic farm in Kent.
Summary
“I don’t normally like vegan food but this was just fine” – Camilla Fayed’s ‘sun to soil’ venture in Bayswater was again solidly well reviewed this year.
Summary
“Vegan at its best”, agree fans of this contemporary Californian-style operation from Camilla Fayed (daughter of the former Harrods owner, Mohamed Al-Fayed). The cooking is “interesting and highly competent”, and while “vegan food can often be bland, that’s not the case here” – so “if you want your first vegan experience, it’s the place to come”.

For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

Farmacy Restaurant Diner Reviews

"You can certainly tell that Camilla Fayed has sunk millions into this this place. It's really rather pretty and the enormous central bar is certainly impressive. The shame is that the food is just woeful. The better part of £20 for a veggie burger and it's the sort of pappy mush that is indistinguishable from the mayonnaise (veganaisse?) soaked bun. I guess it probably tastes ok but when the texture is so horrid we tend not to taste much. When every pub and cafe can now manage triple cooked chips, the solid, greasy offering here seem unforgivable in a place that should be celebrating the potential of humble vegetables. An attempt at Thai curry wasn't quite so poor but was under-seasoned in every way, no acidity, no heat, no saltiness or sweetness. And an oddly small portion. Farmacy was well ahead of the vegan curve. What a shame that "
