Wagyu beef cooked at the counter is the speciality at this new Fitzrovian, which opened in July 2026 on the site of Palms of Goa (RIP). The debut is part of an expanding international chain that started in Fukuoka in 2016 and opened its first branch outside Japan last year in Taipei. The meat in question is A5 akani wagyu: ‘akani’ means deap red and indicates a leaner style of wagyu with less fat-marbelling, hence a more meaty flavour than other types. It is served either as part of a seven-course omakase for £95 a person or with à la carte options (such as wagyu curry, wagyu tartare, wagyu carpaccio, minced wagyu…). The only non-wagyu dishes are a house salad to accompany and a choux bun for dessert!
