The Woodhead Restaurant Group, which operates Portland, Clipstone, and the Quality Chop House, are taking over the quirky space at the back of the famous auctioneers (Bonham's, RIP) and will launch Emilia on April 26 following a soft launch period. The Bonham’s cellar was an impressive one, and the wine-savvy Woodhead Group will also run the space in a vinous vein.
Harden's survey result
“Perfect Emilia-Romagna food… and I know because I’m from there!” This “deeply impressive” Mayfair newcomer occupies the small-but-stylish space, off the rear of Bonhams auction house (with its own street entrance) that was formerly Bonhams (RIP). Run by the same (non-Italian) team as Clipstone, Portland and the Quality Chop House (Will Lander and Dan Morgenthau), the “delicate” cuisine is “enchanting”, service is “classy” and, at lunch, the upstairs space is “lovely and light”. Unsurprisingly though, prices give nothing away.
Emilia Restaurant Diner Reviews
"The standards have been maintained since opening at the pasta dishes remain exceptional. Service is polite and efficient. The old Bonhams site retains its light and pleasant atmosphere. Still excellent "
