Soho Wala Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Went along to a soft opening for a place which says it could be your alternative to Dishoom! Well this seems highly unlikely. After not finding our reservation (which didn't matter as the place was almost empty we were shown to the middle of the restaurant. There was a certain lack of cohesivity among the staff whom were still in the midst of training. We asked for a brace of Cobra's the ever faithful beer. A long while later we were asked if we minded the beers warm as they had not been chilled. I wonder where they were storing them and what will actually happen upon their full opening. We were allowed to touch the bottles and thought we'd chance it. Turns out lukewarm beer was one of the highlights of lunch. So the small plates are elegantly despatched yet every dish arrived luke warm or some even cold. Why oh why cannot restaurants use warm or even hot plates on which to serve food. Two items on the menu had identical titles yet different contents. Needless to say we received the wrong one and had to wait an inordinate amount of time to get the correct dish. As it was not busy why was it all so slow? Thankfully as it was a soft launch we received a 50% discount on the food. It would have been a painful pill to swallow at full price."
"I have been invited for soft launch by Chef Preet Tandi . He is food is always excellent as I have eaten is food in Nobu , Kiru , Monmouth Kitchen, Mayfair kitchen , Leicester Square kitchen etc. This time was something very different experience as Preet was nervous because he is doing his first Indian restaurant. Again he did great job . Pictures on the wall match with restaurant concept. Well done Soho Wala team ."
