Harden's survey result
For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
“They know how to make a decent pizza” (wood-fired) – as indeed they should! – at this “affordable” global chain, which is based in Naples, and where many of the ingredients (and staff and customers) are imported from Italy.
“Surprisingly good pizza” – “really fresh and authentic” with “crispy bases” and “fresh mozzarella and other ingredients imported from Italy” – wins praise for this Naples-based chain. Service can be “disorganised” however, and depending on your tastes, the ambience is either “pleasantly frenetic” or “chaotic and noisy”.
“It’s a chain, but it’s a good chain” – the consensus on these “buzzing” Italians, particularly praised for their “fantastic pizza”; that said, for a business actually based in Naples, results overall are surprisingly MOR.
The “aggressive branch buildout” has done nothing for reporters’ esteem for this Neapolitan-based pizza chain; fans still praise its “authentic” style, but overall it’s difficult to escape the verdict of the reporter who says it’s now “like PizzaExpress without the excitement”.
