Harden's survey result
“Just because it says Jamie Oliver on the door does not mean it is going to be good”, and for the last six years his beleaguered chain has received a dire scorecard in the Harden’s survey – “awful, just awful” – no wonder the TV chef had to rescue it with his own, very deep, pockets this year. With these well-publicised financial problems, media fooderati like Marina O’Loughlin in The Sunday Times have finally woken from their long slumber and begun to comment on the fact that the emperor isn’t wearing any clothes (bringing new meaning to the name ‘Naked Chef’!): what on earth took them so long?
“Jamie get out!” – “you can do better” than this “dreadful, truly dreadful” Italian chain that “used to be enjoyable, but has gone downhill badly” and is “not much better, perhaps no better than school dinners” nowadays.
“Just another chain with celeb branding” – Jamie O’s Italians can be “fun for the family” (“kids are very welcome”) but go “only if you are desperate”: “it’s overly expensive for what’s now very mediocre”.
