In a prime Mayfair location, this “noisy”, Russian-owned Italian wins acceptable ratings, but divides reporters on the subject of value: fans hail it as “wonderful all-round, with a variety of choice and well-presented dishes” (including “top pizza”), but to sceptics “although the food is decent, it’s majorly overpriced, in particular the wine list”.
A modern take on classic Italian cuisine, this Russian-owned joint in a glossy corner of Mayfair is “glitzy and noisy”, but the cooking, from fish to pizza, is “credible if overpriced”.
“Expensive but good” is actually the least enthusiastic endorsement of this agreeable, bare-brick-walled, Russian-owned Italian and pizzeria in Mayfair’s eurotrashiest of enclaves.
“A real sensibly priced gem in Mayfair” – who’d have thought a Russian-owned yearling in this eurotrashiest heart of town would be this “very pleasant venue with good pizza and pasta”? “You could pay a lot more for poorer quality food just around the corner”.
