This “always enjoyable” two-year-old on ‘Chelsea Beach’ entices a stylish local crowd with its fresh-tasting take on the cuisines of China and Southeast Asia, and bleached-pastel contemporary decor. Regulars tip its “best curries”. It’s a sibling to Uli in Notting Hill and Marylebone, from restaurateur Michael Lim.

“A new find” just off ‘Chelsea Beach’ – this yearling on the former site of Farm Girl offers “stylish pan-Asian catering to a stylish crowd”. There’s substance, too, with a “varied menu which means there’s always something tasty to choose”. Founder Michael Lim has worked a similar formula with success for many years at Uli in Notting Hill.

Opened at the start of June 2021: this Chelsea newcomer – on the former site of Farm Girl – is aiming to replicate the success of its long-standing sibling, Uli in Notting Hill. Michael Lim’s easy sense of hospitality twinned with attractive casual decor plus well-priced Southeast Asian food and a separate bar are a promising formula in this neck of the woods. Early reports are very mixed, though. Everyone wishes the place well and thinks it’s potentially “a great neighbourhood addition with a wide range of Asian food”. But for a couple of “so disappointed” reporters, “the menu is appealing, ambience very good”, but results were “no better than OK”.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Absolutely fantastic food and a lovely setting. Pricing is reasonable for the area, especially when considering the quality on offer. Everything we had was full of flavour and a complete delight. My only regret now is that I didn't eat even more! If we have reason to be eating in the area again then it's going to be high on my list for a return visit"
