Harden's survey result
For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
“The free giraffe-shaped drinks stirrers are always a winner” for amusing youngsters at these supremely family-friendly diners, where “staff are happy to work around balloons and colouring”. Its world food menu offers “great choice” but divides views – a sizeable minority feel results are plain “dispiriting” nowadays, but parents in particular still say it’s “good value and fun”.
“I take it all back!” – “the grub seems to have gotten better of late” at these world-food diners; recently acquired by the Birmingham-based Boparan group, and scoring higher ratings across the board. “It’s perfect for families”, “especially those with tots… which is why no-one in their right mind would ever visit at the weekend!”
“Average in all respects save for the fact that they are great with kids” – these World Food diners (nowadays owned by Tesco!) are “crowded”, with “stodgy” fare, but are second only in the survey to PizzaExpress for being impeccably “tolerant of exuberant little ones”.
“Don’t go without kids… but with them it’s perfect!” – this “buzzy” Tesco-owned ‘world food’ chain is generally “unspectacular” foodwise, but its “varied brunch menu” is a big draw and the “free balloons, plastic giraffes and so on” ensure “children love it”.
