“Unusual, imaginative and tasty Israeli cuisine” takes centre stage at this “lively modern Tel Aviv-style café” with cocktail bar, in a Southwark railway arch, from former Ottolenghi chef Eran Tibi.
A flavour of Tel Aviv café culture is to be found in a railway arch in Southwark – the first venture of Israeli-born chef Eran Tibi, formerly of Ottolenghi: “great sharing dishes that look as amazing as they taste”. Top Tip: “an astonishing cauliflower dish changed my perception of this vegetable”.
“A bright spark sorely needed in Southwark” – this “Tel Aviv inspired” newcomer from Israeli-born chef Eran Tibi (formerly of Ottolenghi et al) provides “imaginative Middle Eastern fusion” dishes “in an unusual setting under the Waterloo arches”. “It could be a tad less expensive”, though, “the music could be a bit less loud”, and service is “smiley” but not always on the case.
Bala Baya Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Godo fun and interesting food. NB Tapas style dishes follow each other, they don't come together"
"Food excellent, though pricey"
"Best food I’ve had in a long time. Modern venue under the arches. Service quick but not always very friendly, and had to request bill three times."
