800+ wines by the bottle and a selection of 75 craft beers are the USP of this intriguing Tufnell Park showcase for regional French drinks and produce. The menu changes every six weeks with a different region moving into focus – it’s short and in a supporting role to all the delicious grog, but good value.

“A must for wine-lovers” – this year-old combination of wine bar, restaurant and shop in Tufnell Park is a “real treasure-trove”, showcasing the produce of the French-speaking world, including 650 wines. “Given the retail side of the operation, you could just buy the stuff and eat it all at home, but it would be a shame to miss out on the buzz” – and the “fresh and well-presented small menu”. Top Tip – “book a table if you don’t want to sit on a stool”.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
