Summary

Few restaurants enjoy such a picture-book location as this little French restaurant in a gorgeous-looking Hampstead backwater. Over many years, it has never provoked huge feedback, and on occasion the cuisine can seem “tired and unimaginative” but, so long as you go with moderate expectations foodwise, it can provide a “charming” experience.

Summary

This “tiny and close-packed” old spot on a super-cute Hampstead backstreet knocks out “delightful traditional French cuisine”, albeit without pushing back any gastronomic frontiers. Service is not always on-the-ball, but amiable.

Summary

“Such a pretty”, “tiny bistro on a Hampstead backstreet”; try it in a forgiving frame of mind however – the “traditional Gallic cuisine” is “not the most exciting” (and can be “terribly bland” nowadays), and service is “friendly”, but can have “shades of Fawlty Towers”.

"Elegant, with an interesting menu. We both had duck breast and were disappointed that it was overcooked - surely all French restaurants know that it should be pink! However, our starters and dessert were delicious."
