The “consistently tasty food” at these bright and quirky Levantine cafés makes them ideal for a “quick lunch”, or “breakfast when you want something more than the usual full English”. There are “plenty of options for veggies”, although service can be “a little sloppy and chaotic”.

As a “decent enough pit stop” (or “a great introduction to Lebanese food”) these brightly decorated venues are well-located, “not bad for the price” and “a solid option for a quick bite”. Expect “reliable Middle Eastern food” combined with a “nice level of hustle & bustle”.

“Choose the right dish and you can have a good meal” at this Lebanese chain, which “makes you feel welcome as you arrive, and plies you with free baklava as you leave”. Brightly decorated, perhaps they “don’t seem entirely authentic”, but they’re solid standbys.

For 30 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"We came here for "clean" food and we got that. The food is tasty but never great. The service was dreadful despite the place being maybe maximum half full - we waited 40 minutes for our very simple grilled mains. I'd give it one more go and would hope the service issues were teething problems related to re-opening post-lockdown."
